Thibaut Garcia – French Superstar of the Classical Guitar
Thibaut Garcia is the French star of the classical guitar and he is headed to Australian shores in November for 3 performances - a unique event not to be missed by French music lovers!
It’s hard to believe that this virtuoso is only 22 years of age - Garcia is known for his compelling blend of French technique with the warm Spanish soul and expresses his heritage through his breathtaking performances. In his short career, Garcia has already won several prestigious international competitions, notably the first prize at the Guitar Foundation of American in Oklahoma City in 2015; the “Jose Thomas” international competition in Spain in 2014; the IV Sevilla International Guitar Competition in Spain in 2013, the “Terra Siculorum” in Romania in 2013, the “Ana Amalia” in Weimar, Germany in 2011, and the “Valle de Egues” in Spain in 2008.
His international career has taken him to France, Spain, England, Germany, Romania, Hungary, Canada, United States, Brazil, Greece, Argentina, Mexico, Russia, and China.
In his native France, Garcia was recently featured on La Boîte à Musique (The Music Box) where he was invited to perform on national television by Jean-François Zygel. In December 2015, he also performed on France Musique for Gaëlle Le Gallic’s program. Garcia was also recently awarded the distinction of “filleul” (Godson) by the Académie Charles-Cros, a cultural organization that acts as an intermediary between government policy makers and professional musicians in France.
Thibaut Garcia in concert is not to be missed. He performs with a virtuosity that defies cliche and blends the charm of the classical guitar with a modern urban sensibility.
Thibaut Garcia will be performing in Sydney (18 November), Melbourne (22 November) and Brisbane (24 November). For more information and how to purchase your tickets below, click on the links below:
