Amie Brûlée performs cabaret, combining French songs with stories of love, loss and language (and a few other things besides!). Always dressed immaculately, she presents her show with sophistication, panache and a little cynicism. Accompanied by guitar or three-piece band, Amie speaks and sings in perfect French. The shows are a melange of classic French songs by artists such as Edith Piaf, Charles Trenet, and Serge Gainsbourg, and unearthed cabaret gems, with some modern French tunes and a smattering of Cole Porter. With enchanting stories and humorous anecdotes between songs, told in English but with a distinct French flavour (or all in French if preferred, bien sûr), allow yourself to be transported to another world. The show will entertain Francophiles and music-lovers alike with a little oh là là! Escape to France with Amie Brûlée as she takes you for a musical stroll through French villages and the streets of Paris.
Amie will be next performing on Sunday 6 March 2016 12pm-4pm. In partnership with the National Trust, Amie and her band will transport you to the swing era of the 1930s on the stunning grounds of Mooramong, Skipton. Dress in your best garden style and pack your picnic for an afternoon of music, revelry, garden games and 1930s glamour, tours of the magnificent Art Deco house and, of course, a dip in the pool. The perfect way to say goodbye to summer. Visit facebook for more details: https://www.facebook.com/events/1761587327409033/permalink/1761933724041060/
